    hostcacheconfiguration

I haven't had a chance to really test the effect of setting a "Host Cache Configuration" yet  I also noticed there seems to be very little when Googling around for more info back in July.  Actually, there were no relevant hits actually.  But now, there is a bit of info beginning to surface, but nobody that I can find is really saying how well it actually works.  Very little from VMware yet.

When I get power back to my home, will try a little more testing of this feature...

I do now have an LSI 9265-8i, but still don't have the SSD, will probably go with the same Crucial I tested over here:

Looking into if this is a way to juggle many VMs on a relatively cheap Z68 based motherboard with only 16GB of RAM (for lab/self-training, not for production really).  In other words, using a SandForce SF-2200 based SSD on a decent RAID controller with SATA 3 (6Gbps).  Then I can perhaps use this "swap to host cache" capability to help ease the pain of having only 16GB of actual RAM, without a huge performance penalty when overcommitment gets bad.

No, nothing yet, awaiting some more gear (faster RAID and SSD), it could be a few weeks.

    youve some news on this?
