  • So, I'm taking off in about 36 hours, very excited about this trip! Send me an email if you'll also be there!

They'll be a lot to soak in. Also very fortunate to have the opportunity to make the trip across the Golden Gate Bridge this Sunday, to see Leo Laporte's Brick House in nearby Petaluma, CA, witnessing TWiT Episode 368 live (3pm Pacific time). Should be a fun contrast with my recent experience seeing Joshua Topolsky's 8th Espisode of On The Verge, with guest Mary Jo Foley, last month in New York City.

(update, see picture of Paul and Leo here)

I will say that I found it very difficult to get to see all the sessions I'd like to. Most are offered only once or twice all week, so conflicts were inevitable, as I tried to finalize the schedule within about 48 hours of the enrollment period begining earlier this summer. Will keep you posted on my general impressions of this event, compared to my last VMworld back in 2008.

Here's my list of sessions I managed to schedule:

GS01 -- IT Transformation as the Enabler of Business Transformation
INF-STO1430 -- Tracking Down Storage Performance Issues: A Customer’s Perspective
    INF-STO2428 -- Flash as a Cache – Rethinking Virtualization
INF-VSP1504 -- Ask the Expert vBloggers
EUC1450 -- Embracing Macs in Business Using VMware Fusion
    INF-STO2980 -- vSphere 5 Storage Best Practices
GS02 -- Delivering the Promise of the Software Defined Datacenter
TEX2198 -- Cloud Application Platform Roadmap (TAP only)
INF-VSP1549 -- Insight Into vMotion: Architectures, Performance, Best Practices, and Futures
SPO3292 -- Veeam Backup & Replication: Tips and Tricks
EUC2406 -- Horizon Data: Technical Deep-dive and Beta Learnings
    EUC1351 -- Directions in End-user Computing: The Post-PC Era
SPO3304 -- Best Practices for Collaborative DevOps with Optimal Application Performance in VMware Environments with IBM
    INF-STO1198 -- vSphere Storage Features & Enhancements
EUC2005 -- Troubleshooting VMware View: Looking under the Hood
INF-STO2564 -- Supercharged SAN: Fine-tune Your VAAI Enabled vSphere SAN with This Collection of Configuration and Performance Best Practices
INF-VSP1622 -- Performance New Features and Best Practices for vSphere
    GS03 -- Genius Machines
EUC1688 -- Tackling Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Initiatives with the VMware View Mobile Secure Desktop
APP-CAP2956 -- Inside the Hadoop Machine
EUC1305 -- What's New and What's Next for VMware View?

Then you'll see "My Interests" which are events I cannot attend, due to conflicts. You get the idea, I have many interests. There are worse problems to have!
