It's been nearly 5 months since I've had the opportunity to be on Jim's show, and we briefly revisit my experiences with the eero and the ecobee3, and a bunch of new stuff too, including the world's first looks at Intel Optane. All the shownotes are over in Jim's article, be sure to check them out and have a listen! Someday I'll learn that most podcast listeners are listeners, not watchers, I'll try harder to remember that next time I'm given the honor of some ear-time.

One noteworthy item that wasn't included when we created the shownotes was this new arrival, the ASUS ZenScreen MB16AC 15.6-Inch Full HD IPS Monitor that improves upon the original ASUS MB169C+ in many little ways. I'll try to get the 4K unboxing and overview video published soon, which I'll add right below this article.

Meanwhile, you can watch the podcast if you'd like, since I show a few products off using my USB-C connected Logitech BRIO 4K Webcam, with output down-res'd to 720p by Google Hangouts.

I also managed to forget to say how glad I am to be working at VMware now, in case you can't already tell. Being at VMworld 2017 US as an employee was awesome, see also the many video interviews I did right here that are hopefully of interest to home lab / home datacenter enthusiasts.

Finally, see also the particularly friendly and fun chat transcript from the visitors who were kind enough to hang out with us live, during the recording.

Thank you again Jim, for you being you, and for inviting me again!
