VMworld 2016 US held a nice event again this year for vExperts like myself, who have spent a lot of their personal time sharing their VMware-related knowledge and experience with others through user groups, presentations, training videos, and blogs. The perk was an evening at the The Mob Museum in Las Vegas, where we got to meet up with many vExperts to enjoy some food and conversation, as well as a chance for us to spend some time hearing Pat Gelsinger tell us how things are going over at VMware. Pretty interesting venue, in a relatively intimate and casual atmosphere. He sure is comfortable in his own shows, and had a way of interspersing some light humor that kept the attentive audience engaged.

Instead of me paraphrasing what was said about the Dell/EMC deal, how about taking 4 minutes to hear for yourself what Pat had to say?

Dell-EMC Merger - Here's what VMware CEO Pat Gelsinger told vExperts at VMworld 2016 US last week. Sorry it's so dark in the room we were in, but the audio is what counts here.

...You have to look at just the simple math of the deal.

...What you've heard Michael say is 3 things about VMware. We've remained independent. He's committed to supporting our ecosystem, and he wants to accelerate our growth.

...We're trading an E for a D. We had a majority share holder named EMC, when the deal is done, we have a majority share holder named Dell.
