Last week, Microsoft released Windows 10 May 2019 Update Version 1903, all sorts of details found below. I had a chance to install 1903 and the latest Veeam Agent this past weekend. Before I dove in, I first verified that they're fully supported when used together. Then I made sure to my Windows 10 version 1809 was backed up recently, having been burned by (re-release) in the past. This avoided reliance on Microsoft Windows native roll-back feature. I feel a lot better having a full system image before upgrading, especially on my daily driver system.

Digging around a little, I quickly found that Veeam documentation has you covered. Here's an excerpt I created with the latest Windows versions that are supported, found at Veeam HelpCenter under System Requirements:

OS - Both 64-bit and 32-bit (where applicable) versions of the following operating systems are supported:

    • Microsoft Windows 10 (including version 1903)2
    • Microsoft Windows Server 2019

2 Microsoft Windows 10 Education is supported starting from build 10586 and higher.

    .

I've been using Veeam backups daily on dozens of PCs since 2014's original release called Veeam Endpoint Backup FREE, saving my bacon regularly, with reliability and ease-of-use. It's a very popular product, and not only is it free, but they even offer the ability to open support incidents from right within the UI.

A backup isn't much peace of mind until you recreate the recovery media and perform a full system restore. I haven't had a chance to do that essential second step quite yet.

Thanks Paul. We need to correct our online help because Windows 10 May 2019 Update version 1903 is not actually fully supported yet. It will only be supported by version 3.0.2 to be released next month. Looks like Help Center is the only existing place with this mistake ;) as all other linked documents are correct.

Here's the Veeam forum thread post you've been waiting for, in Windows 10 May / 1903 Support:

    Hello folks,

Veeam Agent for Windows 3.0.2 is officially live and it fully supports Windows 10 1903 (aka May Update). You can get it from veeam.com. Cheers!

My orginal title of this article was:
Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows support for Microsoft Windows 10 May 2019 Update, version 1903 (official support arriving with 3.0.2 in June)
but I've had to change it to:
Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows 3.0.2 supports Microsoft Windows 10 May 2019 Update (version 1903)

It appears to have taken Veeam a little longer than originally expected to complete their thorough testing, but we're all set now, and Windows 1903 support is clearly called out in the 3.0.2 Release Notes too:

    OS
Both 64-bit and 32-bit (where applicable) versions of the following operating systems are supported:
    • Microsoft Windows Server 2019
    • Microsoft Windows Server 2016
    • Microsoft Windows Server Semi-Annual Channel (including version 1903)
    • Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2
    • Microsoft Windows Server 2012
    • Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1
Microsoft Windows 10 (including version 1903)
    • Microsoft Windows 8.x
    • Microsoft Windows 7 SP1

New video from the day before I headed to Europe last year now published! I had a lot of changes to perform on my Lenovo Yoga, and I needed a quick way to roll back in case things went sideways. Worked great!

Veeam has been an advertiser on many virtualization sites for years now, and Veeam had a BuySellAds-purchased advertisement along the top of TinkerTry as well, but that was longer than 12 months ago.

All TinkerTry advertisement goes through third party BuySellAds. None of my articles are sponsored posts, and there are currently no affiliate links for Veeam Endpoint Backup FREE, or any of their other products. There are no commissions for any Veeam products folks buy after reading one of my articles.

TinkerTry takes extreme care to protect visitors by using only one ad network, BuySellAds, which has never had a security issue to date, and is very commonly used in the virtualization blogger community. Their CEO seems to get what's going on with ad blockers, evident in his recent post. I regularly receive lucrative offers from various companies looking to have me inject JavaScript trackers into TinkerTry, which I of course turn down.
